Who Are We?
FWS stores are stacked, packed and crammed with an ever-changing inventory of higher quality deeply discounted furniture, area rugs, carpeting and fabrics. Owners John Grimaldi and John Wanat bargain with makers of brand name furniture, area rugs, carpeting and fabric makers from around the world. With the belief that living shouldn't cost too much, they accept only the lowest price so FWS can pass the savings on to you.
Established in Buffalo in 1962, the company sold everything from shoes to stoves and operated under different names as ownership changed. In 1973, Factory Warehouse Sales burst onto the scene when the ceiling of a Levitz Furniture warehouse collapsed. Over the years, FWS focused on closeouts and overstocks and then special order and mainstream lines of home furnishings as customer needs changed.
Today, FWS Home Furnishings returns to its roots as Western New York's discount destination for unique furniture, area rugs, carpeting and fabrics. In a world where big box retailers offer all the same styles and looks with inflated prices, FWS offers real prices on real home furnishings for real life.

Do we provide fabric or leather swatches?Yes, we offer free swatches of any in-stock fabric in our fabric department. We also have free swatches of any carpet in stock in our carpeting department.

Do we offer credit?We certainly do!
To facilitate your purchases, we offer in-store financing and deferred payment options via third party companies. Our in-store credit application is simple and generally takes only about 10 minutes for you to be approved.

Our People and ServiceFWS has friendly, courteous and knowledgeable employees who work hard to serve you! If you have questions, we will do our very best to provide you with answers.
Set up and delivery services are provided in a most professional manner by an independent contractor. All furniture is carefully inspected by experienced professionals prior to delivery. We can arrange to have your old items carted away. Our staff members are extremely knowledgeable, and offer help without additional charge. We offer referrals to competent design consultants, upholsterers and sewing professionals who charge variable hourly rates.

How long have we been in business?FWS has been in business for over 40 years. We aren't a fly-by-night company, a faceless 800 phone number or a startup dot com venture that's here today and perhaps "dot gone" tomorrow! Our reputation is gained from proudly serving thousands of families over many generations. We would love to be able to serve yours.

What kind of savings can I expect?We are known as deep discounters. FWS buys factory closeouts, discontinued products, excess inventory and overstocks.... so that our customers can benefit from superb values and huge savings. At FWS, you will usually save from 15% to 80% off the manufacturers suggested prices on both in stock and custom orders. Furthermore, our service is second to none! Our merchandise tags are easy to read and understand! We sell quality furnishings, which insure that your money is well spent.

How do I cancel my order?For online orders, call us as soon as possible at (716) 874-5740.
Our in-store cancellation policy is as follows:Most merchandise purchased that has not been delivered or picked up may be canceled within 3 days of purchase for a full refund. No returns or refunds will be offered on cut carpet, fabric or special orders. Due bills will be issued for the amount on deposit of a sale canceled 4 to 30 days after the purchase date. After 30 days, due bills will be issued at management's discretion.
Our in-store refund policy is as follows:Refund checks are issued only on Fridays. Funds must clear before a refund check will be issued. Please note - the yellow copy of the sale must accompany returned merchandise. "As is" and "final sale" purchases are final - no refunds will be offered on sales marked "as is" or "final sale."
These policies are in force to allow us to maintain our low prices. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

How is delivery arranged?We use third party moving companies to arrange delivery at a nominal fee. FWS sales staff and the third party company staff will coordinate with you to book an appointment. Online purchases are typically shipped using UPS. Shipping charges will be added to your invoice at checkout.

Local Delivery (Western New York)
Our super low prices are based on customers picking up their merchandise. Local deliveries are generally those within the Western New York area and are charged based on the distance of the delivery. Local deliveries are prioritized on a Zip code basis.
You may contract with our independent delivery agents for on-site services such as:
Un-wrapping
Assembly and placement of furniture
Carting away of your old furniture or mattresses

Rescheduling Delivery
To reschedule non-shipped items you must notify us at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled delivery by telephone at (716) 874-5740 in Buffalo or (716)633-0022 in Williamsville, depending on your store of purchase. A representative will be happy to assist the rescheduling of your delivery. If a delivery was attempted, or not enough notification was given, you will incur a redelivery fee.

Store HoursWe are normally open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and 12:00 noon to 5:00 on Sundays. Holiday hours vary and will be posted at the stores or in our print ads.
Do we charge sales taxes?As a New York State registered business, we are obligated to charge 7% to 9% sales tax on internet sales to New York State residents (depending on where you live). No sales taxes apply to residents of other states on online orders.
For in-store sales:
We are required to collect sales tax for all in-store purchases.

DepositsWe require a deposit on all purchases. Please ask a friendly sales associate in the department from which you are purchasing about the applicable deposit required.

How do I know if my credit application was approved?In FWS stores, it generally takes about 10 minutes to get an answer. We will tell you immediately whether the application was approved by the third party financing company.

Checks and money orders?We accept both checks and money orders.
Items being paid by money order will ship as soon as possible after we receive payment. Orders being paid by check will ship as soon as possible after the check clears (usually about 10 days). Any returned checks will be subject to a $35 processing fee. Most checks will be electronically approved using a third party authorization service.

What about damaged goods?Unless the item is marked as "as-is", virtually everything we sell in furniture at FWS is guaranteed by the manufacturer a minimum of one full year after it's in your home. If after delivery and within the guarantee period, repairs are needed, they will be made at no charge to you. If replacements are necessary, we will move "heaven and earth" to obtain replacements to your complete satisfaction.
If at the time of delivery, a defect is detected, we will repair it or order a replacement.

To keep our prices low, even on custom orders, we cannot cancel custom orders once the process of ordering with the supplier/manufacturer has begun.

Are extended warrantees available?With the exception of the extended warrantee that may apply when fabric or wood protection is chosen as an option, we do not offer extended warrantee protection.

Yes it is, and we highly recommend it. Simply put, it helps preserve your investment.
